Abandoned due to solar eclipse...and others

Cricket matches are most commonly abandoned due to weather, particularly rain, but there have been many other bizarre and interesting reasons for interruptions or abandonments.

Solar Eclipse: A total solar eclipse in Mumbai in 1980 caused a Test match between India and England to have an entire day of play abandoned. Blinding Sunlight: A match between India and New Zealand in 2019 was stopped because the setting sun was shining directly into the eyes of the Indian batsmen, making it impossible to see. Smog: A Test match in Delhi between India and Sri Lanka was interrupted due to toxic smog, which caused Sri Lankan players to wear masks and two to leave the field as they were unable to breathe properly. Animal Invasion: Matches have been delayed or interrupted by swarms of bees, flying ants, and even a car that drove onto the pitch. Burnt Toast: A Sheffield Shield match in Australia was delayed when a fire alarm went off, causing an evacuation. The cause? A player had burned his toast in the kitchen. Delayed Luggage: A T20I between India and West Indies was delayed by three hours because the visiting team's luggage hadn't arrived at the stadium.
