Fastest delivery ever

The fastest officially recorded cricket delivery was bowled by Shoaib Akhtar of Pakistan at 161.3 km/h (100.23 mph) during a 2003 Cricket World Cup match. While other fast bowlers, including Australia's Brett Lee and Shaun Tait, have come close, and Mitchell Starc holds the fastest left-arm delivery at 160.4 km/h (99.7 mph), Akhtar's record remains the only one to break the 100 mph barrier. Although some unsubstantiated claims from the pre-radar era, like those about Jeff Thomson, suggest faster deliveries, they lack official verification.
