Jimmy Matthews remains the sole bowler to achieve two hat-tricks in a single Test match, a feat he accomplished in 1912 against South Africa. While Matthews holds this unique record in Test cricket, other bowlers have managed a similar feat in different formats. For example, Mitchell Starc took two hat-tricks for New South Wales in a 2017 Sheffield Shield game. An even more extraordinary achievement, "two hat-tricks in two overs," was recently recorded by Kishor Kumar Sadhak in July 2025 while playing for Ipswich and Colchester Cricket Club, representing an unprecedented level of consecutive success.
